Chase with Jackson police ends in a hedge in Flowood

A man is in custody after leading police on a chase from Jackson to Flowood.

Authorities said the pursuit began in the Capitol Police Department’s jurisdiction. The route of the pursuit was not disclosed, but officers from Capitol, Flowood, Rankin County, Pearl and the Mississippi Highway Patrol were on the scene after the suspect crashed his small Dodge SUV in a hedge between Logans and McAllisters in Dogwood.

The suspect then allegedly jumped out of the vehicle and fled on foot toward Belk. He was arrested without incident, authorities said. His name has not yet been released.
