Rape: Teenager arrested for raping minor girl in Kanpur | News from Kanpur

Kanpur: A 14-year-old boy has been booked for raping a 14-year-old girl and making her pregnant in Narwal district. On the directions of the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) East, Narwal police have taken the teenager into custody by filing a case of rape and under the Pocso Act against him. The police have also registered a case of intimidation against his father and two brothers. A woman, a resident of a village in Narwal police station area, alleged in her complaint that a teenager from the same village lured her minor daughter on the pretext of giving her money and raped her on March 28. She came to know about the sexual assault only when her daughter became pregnant, the woman further claimed. “When she went to the accused’s house to complain about the incident, his father and two elder brothers abused her and attacked her with sticks and threatened her with dire consequences,” the complainant alleged. In order to cover up the incident, the accused’s family members continued to threaten the girl and her entire family. On learning about the matter, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) East Shrawan Kumar Singh directed the Narwal police to file a rape complaint and initiate action after investigation. Narwal police station in-charge Rajesh Kumar Singh said that on the complaint of the victim’s mother, a rape complaint was filed against the accused and under the Pocso Act against his father and two brothers for molestation, assault and threat on Friday. The rape accused has been taken into custody. “Raids are being conducted to arrest the boy’s father and the other siblings,” Singh added.
