Two minors raped in Panchkula, main accused arrested

Two underage girls were allegedly drugged and gang raped in Sector 16 on Friday.

According to police, the girls were out for a walk on Friday evening when they met four male friends. The youths took them to a colony in Sector 16 where they allegedly drugged the girls and raped them in turns. CCTV cameras on the street captured two of the accused taking one of the minors away.

Following a police complaint, the case was registered at Sector 14 police station. Police launched an investigation and quickly arrested the main accused, 22-year-old Rohit, while a manhunt is on for the three co-accused.

Police officials said Rohit was earlier arrested in connection with a robbery case in the Chandimandir police station area in 2022 and is currently out on bail.
