Trump falls from stage after shooting at rally, suspected shooter dead

Former US President Donald Trump was forced off the stage after a series of shots were fired at his campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. As the shots were heard, he grimaced and held a hand to his right ear, where blood was clearly visible on his cheek and mouth.

The suspected shooter was pronounced dead, one bystander was killed and two others were “seriously injured.”

In his initial reaction to the shooting at his rally, the 78-year-old Republican presidential candidate said in a statement that he was “struck by a bullet that pierced the upper part of my right ear.” His campaign team said he was “fine” and was being evaluated at a medical facility.

Secret Service agents quickly surrounded the Republican candidate and roughly escorted him off the stage.
