Polk County, Florida. – A 29-year-old woman died Friday, July 12, in an apparent workplace accident at a Mosaic plant in the Bradley area south of Mulberry.

Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd released preliminary details in a video message Saturday, identifying the victim as 29-year-old Jameka Williams, a process server at Mosaic.

According to Sheriff Judd, Williams was working on a machine when she slipped and fell. The exact circumstances leading up to the incident are still under investigation.

Rescue crews and Mosaic employees worked throughout the day to recover Williams’ body from the machine. Sheriff Judd expressed his condolences to Williams’ family and friends, noting that her aunt works in the Polk County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is on site and will conduct a thorough investigation into the accident. An autopsy is scheduled to be performed later this week to determine the official cause of death.
