Police officer injured in Northeast Philadelphia crash, police say – NBC10 Philadelphia

A Philadelphia Police Department officer is recovering after a car crash Saturday afternoon in Northeast Philadelphia, a department spokesman said.

The officer was at the scene assisting other officers when the accident occurred shortly after 4 p.m., police said.

According to police, the accident occurred at the intersection of Roosevelt Boulevard and Saint Vincent Street as the officer was driving north in the outside lanes.

The officer was cut off by a driver of a black sedan, after which he collided with a white Mitsubishi, officials said.

The officer was taken to a nearby hospital where he is expected to be treated and released, according to police.

No civilians were injured in the accident, police said. The officer’s vehicle had damage to the front, while the private vehicle had damage to the rear.
