One arrested and charged after stabbing on Spencer Road

ITHACA, NY – One person was arrested following a stabbing on Spencer Road Thursday afternoon that left another person hospitalized.

Ithaca Police Lt. Thomas Condzella said officers were called to the 600 block of Spencer Road after a reported stabbing at a residence.

When police arrived, they found a male victim suffering from a “severe” stab wound to his forearm. Police, Bangs EMS and the Ithaca Fire Department administered first aid to the man. He was transported to a local hospital and is expected to make a full recovery, according to Condzella.

Condzella said during a subsequent investigation, police determined that a woman who knew the male victim entered his home and confronted him. An altercation ensued and the woman reportedly stabbed the man in the arm and retreated into a nearby residence. The woman, Jessica Leigh Anderson of Ithaca, was arrested without incident shortly after police arrived.

Anderson was charged with first-degree burglary, second-degree assault and fourth-degree illegal possession of a weapon. Following the arraignment, she was transported to the Tompkins County Jail and is being held on $1,000 cash bail or $5,000 surety bond or $20,000 partially secured bond.
