3 teenagers arrested for alleged break-in at elementary school in Northern California

(FOX40.COM) — Three teens were arrested after police say they broke into and vandalized a local elementary school.

On Thursday around 3:10 p.m., Galt Police responded to a burglary alarm at Greer Elementary School. Video surveillance footage reportedly showed three suspects on school property. When officers arrived at the scene, two suspects fled on foot. The third suspect was later found in his nearby apartment.

According to GPD, approximately $15,000 in damage was caused to the school grounds. Two juveniles were taken to the Sacramento County Juvenile Detention Center and arrested for burglary, vandalism, resisting arrest, giving a false name to officers and possession of alcohol while underage.

Due to the age of the third suspect, police said he was charged with suspected burglary and resisting arrest and released to his parents.
