‘Seva-paani ka mauka do’: Spicejet employee who slapped CISF man alleges sexual harassment

A Spicejet employee has accused of sexual harassment after he slapped a CISF official at Jaipur airport. Both parties have filed complaints with conflicting accounts of the incident, which has since gone viral on social media platforms. The crew member was arrested on Friday after Assistant Sub Inspector Giriraj Prasad filed a complaint.

The woman claims she was doing her job when Prasad made her an inappropriate offer. She told news agency ANI that she responded by threatening to file a police complaint if he persisted.

Humey, but what kind of work can you do… can you walk on a limb? Tumhare, the bazaar, is a great treasure, but it is a treasure,” she remembers him telling her.

A lawyer for the employee said on Friday that his client was “sexually harassed” by the police officers – which prompted them to slap him. The claim echoes Spicejet’s statement shortly after the incident.

“The SpiceJet employee was arrested. She was sexually harassed by the CISF ASI at Jaipur airport. She was abused with foul language following which she lost her temper and slapped the CISF official. This was her natural reaction to the incident,” advocate Deepak Chouhan told ANI.

“Our female security guard was subjected to inappropriate and unacceptable abuse by the CISF personnel while escorting a catering vehicle at the steel gate – they asked her to pick him up from his home after work hours, among other things. SpiceJet is taking immediate legal action in this serious case of sexual harassment of its female guard and has approached the local police,” a SpiceJet spokesperson said.

The airline said the employee was in possession of a valid airport entry card issued by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security.
