Widow of man killed in Pearland shooting begging for answers

Pearland police said the motive behind the shooting was unclear, but it could involve road violence.

PEARLAND, Texas – The Anderson family is leaning on each other during a very difficult time.

“It’s so hard knowing my husband… I can’t talk to him anymore,” Christina Anderson said.

Dominique Anderson’s widow and her family spoke about the father of two, who loved music, road trips and cooking.

He was heading home in the early morning hours last Friday when Pearland police said someone shot him.

“The detective came to the door to tell us that Dominique had been shot,” Christina Anderson said.

It happened at 288 and Shadow Creek Parkway/McHard Road, where police say surveillance cameras showed Dominique driving next to a gold Cadillac sedan.

“And as they stopped, the person in the gold Cadillac reached out and fired a shot into the car, killing my son,” said Dominique’s mother, Tammy Anderson.

Dominique’s car continued driving until he crashed into a light pole and a tree about a quarter mile away. Body camera footage shared with us shows the police’s initial response. Unfortunately, Anderson was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.

Speeding in traffic cannot be ruled out at the moment.

“The motive is unknown,” said Pearland Police PIO Chad Rogers. “We don’t know if these people knew each other. All we know is that one person lost their life that night because of something we are trying to figure out.”

Meanwhile, Anderson’s family is asking for help in finding justice.

“I mean, if you know something, just come out and say it,” said Dominique’s son Aaron.

“Because we know someone saw something. We know someone heard something. And I know it’s scary, but you can do it anonymously,” Tammy Anderson said.

They’re hoping someone might be able to help solve only the second murder case in Pearland this year.

“If anyone knows anything, please come forward,” Christina Anderson said.

Anyone with information about this case should call Pearland police or Brazoria County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-460-2222.
