Showers and flood warnings expected Saturday in the Tri-State area, followed by more extreme heat. Here’s the latest forecast.

Flood warning

We can expect isolated showers throughout Saturday morning. A flood warning will remain in effect until early afternoon.

The heaviest and most widespread showers will move away by midday, and as the day progresses the skies will clear from west to east.

Saturday feels tropical

Temperatures are average in the meantime, but humidity gives it a tropical feel. As conditions improve, expect highs in the 30s.

In this tropical air mass, isolated showers or thunderstorms cannot be ruled out in the afternoon. However, it will remain mostly dry in the second half of the day.

CBS New York

Saturday night will be partly cloudy and muggy, with lows around 24 degrees in New York City and 15 degrees in the northwest suburbs. Scattered fog is possible overnight and around dawn.

Extreme heat returns

CBS New York

The heat will return on Sunday. Temperatures will rise to just under 35 degrees tomorrow and to just under 35 degrees on Tuesday and Wednesday next week. Tuesday will probably be the peak, with temperatures feeling between 38 and 43 degrees in the afternoon.

CBS New York

Next week, isolated, sudden thunderstorms may occur at any time in the afternoon, but the next widespread rain showers and thunderstorms will not occur until a front passes through on Wednesday.
