Shooting and two stabbings reported within 6 hours in Atlantic City earlier this week

According to Atlantic City police, a shooting and two stabbings occurred within six hours on July 8.

The first stabbing occurred during a fight between two men at the corner of Tennessee Avenue and Atlantic Avenue.

Officers said they arrived at the scene around 8:30 a.m. The suspect, James Knight, was later arrested.

At around 9:13 a.m., police were also called to another fight involving several people on Pennsylvania Avenue and Arctic Avenue.

According to authorities, Isaiah Byrd was arrested for stabbing a resident during the fight.

Shortly before 2 p.m., a 15-year-old girl was taken to hospital with a gunshot wound. Police believe she was accidentally shot on Rosemont Place.

Police say they are looking for a 17-year-old man in connection with the shooting.
