Man found dead in Connecticut motel, police describe it as ‘suspicious’

Police are investigating after a man was found dead in a Connecticut motel room under what they say are “suspicious circumstances,” officials said.

Wethersfield officers received a call just before 6 a.m. Saturday from a person at a Motel 6, 1341 Silas Deane Highway in Wethersfield. The caller told police that a man was dead in a room. When officers arrived, they found the man dead and requested assistance from Wethersfield Criminal Investigation Division in the investigation.

Police are calling the death “suspicious” and have requested assistance from the Connecticut State Police Central District Major Crimes Unit in the investigation, led by the New Britain District Attorney’s Office. The man’s identity is not being released at this time until his family is notified, police said.

The police said that this was an isolated incident and that there was no danger to the public.
