Motorcyclist killed in accident south of Sarasota

SARASOTA COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) – A 22-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a crash in south Sarasota late Friday.

The Florida Highway Patrol said the motorcyclist was traveling at a high rate of speed on U.S. 41 near the Landings Boulevard intersection around 11:30 p.m.

Police said another driver turned left onto Landings Boulevard and struck the motorcyclist.

The motorcyclist was thrown from his motorcycle and died at the scene of the accident.

The crash remains under investigation.
