Lame Deer man receives three sentences for sexually abusing a minor

From the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Montana:

A Lame Deer man who admitted to sexually abusing a minor and assaulting his partner in two separate cases on the Northern Cheyenne Indian Reservation was sentenced yesterday.

David Benjamin Wick, Sr., 44, of Lame Deer, pleaded guilty in December 2023 to sexual abuse of a minor. In January 2024 he pleaded guilty to seriously injuring a spouse or partner.

Wick was sentenced yesterday to a total of three years and one day in prison, followed by five years of supervised release. Two years for sexual abuse of a minor and one year and one day for assault following the sentence for sexual abuse.

According to the court:

The government alleged that Wick, then 39, had sexual intercourse with a 15-year-old girl on the Northern Cheyenne Indian Reservation in 2019. Wick and the girl had connected on Facebook and Wick invited her to his trailer to drink alcohol.

Wick kicked his partner and punched her repeatedly in the face and head while calling her names. The victim was treated for severe trauma.

The US Attorney’s Office prosecuted the case. The FBI and the Bureau of Indian Affairs conducted the investigation.
