5 people arrested after teen killed in Blytheville shooting

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — Five people are facing charges following a shooting in Blytheville, Arkansas that left an 18-year-old dead.

Blytheville Police responded to a shooting on South Division Street on Sunday, April 21st. Officers reportedly found 18-year-old Kohnali Hunt of Caruthersville, Missouri, suffering from gunshot wounds.


Hunt was taken to Great River Medical Center and later transferred to Regional One Hospital in Memphis for treatment, Blytheville police said. He later died from his injuries.

According to Blytheville police, 19-year-old Rodney Hamilton-Jones, 21-year-old Tyleik Moore, 21-year-old Dion Grant, 19-year-old Keion Hamilton and a juvenile have been charged in connection with Hunt’s death.

All named suspects are from Hayti, Missouri, Blytheville police said. Blytheville Police say the Hayti Police Department, Caruthersville Police Department, Pemiscot County Sheriff’s Office, O’Fallon Police Department and the US Marshals Service assisted in the investigation.
