Cody Rhodes is attacked by The Bloodline after accepting Solo Sikoa’s Championship challenge

The Bloodline made a statement with their attack on Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton at WWE SmackDown.

WWE SmackDown ended on an emotional note when The Bloodline attacked the current WWE Tag Team Champions, DIY, and continued their assault until the final segment of the evening when Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes showed up to confront the group. Solo Sikoa was hell-bent on being recognized by the entire world as the leader of the group, but Rhodes wasn’t going to let that happen. He gets straight to the point: he’s out there because he wants to end this Bloodline thing once and for all. While he’d rather end it right now, that’s not possible, so he’s challenging the group’s new leader instead. WWE SummerSlam.

Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, Sikoa and Jacob Fatu storm the ring and attack the champion, who is helpless against the onslaught. He doesn’t stay alone for long, however, as “The Viper” tries to even the odds for his friend. Earlier in the evening, Randy Orton spoke to Rhodes backstage, insisting that he would help him finish things with The Bloodline and that he would give him the title back even if it was to the locker room. It’s still too much for both of them as they are punched, kicked, speared, thrown through the announce table and pelted with spikes at ringside.

The Bloodline ends the night with their heads held high above the champion and future WWE Hall of Famer, but how much longer does Sikoa have as the leader of The Bloodline? With Paul Heyman out of the running after an attack on him, Roman Reigns must be nearby and waiting in the wings to retake his place at the top of the table. Whether he shows up at the show or not, SummerSlam will be decided during the show, but since it is the last big event of the year, apart from Survival serieswhen he returns in 2024, SummerSlam would be the perfect time. Reigns has been in the spotlight since losing his title at WrestleMania 40 against Rhodes. Instead of being booed, the fans chant his name and wish for his return so that he can put an end to his family’s tirade.

It seems that WWE is also working towards a second Bloodline Civil War match between the two generations, which is definitely a War Games Scenario at Survival seriesThat would leave things pretty open for Reigns to WrestlingMania 41 next year against The Rock, assuming he is willing to return.
