ON FRIDAY, 11 NEWS OBTAINED COURT DOCUMENTS DESCRIBING THE WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON INCIDENT AT THE FRANKFORD AVENUE AND BELLAIRE ROAD BUS STOP IN FRANKFURT. SURVEILLANCE FROM INSIDE THE BUS SHOWS THE CONVERSATION THAT TOOK PLACE BETWEEN 14-YEAR-OLD LEMON AND THE SUSPECT, 18-YEAR-OLD BRANDON ADAMS. POLICE SAY ADAMS IS SHOWN WITH A KNIFE IN HIS HAND BEFORE HE ATTACKED THE TEEN AND HE SAYS EVERYONE GETTING OFF THE BUS AND THE BUS DRIVER DID NOT MOVE THE BUS. SHE QUOTES HIM AS SAYING SHE CALLED 911. POLICE SAY THEY QUICKLY ARRESTED ADAMS IN A NEARBY BUSINESS IN THIS MALL. POLICE SAY THE SUSPECT TOLD THEM, QUOTE: THE PERSON WITH THE KNIFE TRIED TO KILL ME. I HAVE A STAB WOUND. END QUOTE. BEFORE HE WAS CALLED INTO ARREST. IT’S VERY FRUSTRATING BECAUSE IT COULD BE ANY CHILD. DALI SMITH, WHO LIVES NOT FAR FROM THE CRIME SCENE, HAS NO CONNECTIONS TO THE VICTIM OR SUSPECT BUT SAYS THE SITUATION IS TROUBLING. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I’VE HEARD OF THIS BUT I THINK IT’S SOMETHING BAD. I THINK I’M REALLY TROUBLED ABOUT THE CRIME BECAUSE THERE’S A LOT GOING ON. MEANWHILE, AT THE FRANKFURT GARDEN SHOPPING CENTER, WHERE SEVERAL PEOPLE TELLED US THAT THE INJURED TEENAGER RUN OFF THE BUS, SOME ARE STILL RELIVING THAT TRAGIC AFTERNOON. I WAS JUST SURPRISED BY IT. SOMETHING LIKE THAT HAPPENED ON THE BUS, 118 114, COME ON. VERY TRAGIC. AND WE KNOW THAT ADAMS, WHO IS NOW FACING A CHARGE OF FIRST DEGREE MURDER, WAS DENIED BAIL IN COURT TODAY AND IS BACK IN COURT NEXT MONTH.

18-year-old man charged in fatal knife attack on teen on MTA bus, police say

Baltimore police have arrested an 18-year-old man in connection with the killing of a teenage MTA bus driver. Brandon Lee Adams Jr., 18, of Baltimore, is accused of stabbing 14-year-old Cortez Lemon to death during a fight on a bus near the intersection of Frankford Avenue and Belair Road Wednesday afternoon. On Friday, 11 News obtained court documents detailing some of the events leading up to Wednesday’s stabbing. Police said they were called to the Frankford Gardens Shopping Plaza around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a severe laceration. The victim was taken to the hospital, where he died a short time later. Witnesses told police the suspect may be at a store near the mall at 5100 Belair Road. Police said they found Adams a short time later, who told them, “The person with the knife tried to kill me; he tried to kill me.” I have a stab wound.” Adams was then arrested and taken to the hospital for his injuries. Investigators reviewed surveillance footage from inside the bus, which shows an altercation between the victim and Adams. Police said Adams can be seen holding a knife before attacking the victim. “Everyone jumped out of the bus yelling and screaming,” said a man who declined to give his name but witnessed the aftermath of the stabbing. “The next thing I saw was the back door open and this one guy came out, and he came out bleeding.” On Friday, Adams, who is charged with first-degree murder, was denied bail and is scheduled to appear in court again next month.

Police said they were called to the Frankford Gardens Shopping Plaza around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a severe laceration. Witnesses told police the suspect may be at a store near the mall at 5100 Belair Road.
