Wanted man arrested in Trinity County near Houston

DAYTON, Texas (KTRE) – A man accused of stealing a deer lease in Trinity County was arrested Tuesday in a town near Houston.

Brian Taylor Wright, 40, was the subject of a manhunt that began after a robbery at a deer concession on the Polk-Trinity county line, according to a statement from Trinity County Sheriff Woody Wallace. The June 26 robbery was interrupted by sheriff’s department personnel and resulted in the arrest of an unidentified suspect, but Wright remained at large as of Tuesday.

Trinity County law enforcement was assisted by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office and TDCJ tracking and hound dogs in the manhunt, according to previous reports.

Wright was arrested on a warrant issued in connection with the theft of rented deer, during which he allegedly attempted to steal generators, a tractor, a side-by-side and other items. The warrant was executed by the Dayton Police Department around 7:39 p.m. Tuesday in the 300 block of East U.S. 90.

Wright was charged with theft of property >= $30,000 < $150,000, burglary of a habitation, evading arrest, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and evading arrest with a vehicle.
