Three injured in car and horse-drawn carriage accident in St. Lawrence County

TOWN OF DEKALB, NY (WWTI) – St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s officials are investigating an accident involving a car and an Amish horse-drawn carriage on the afternoon of July 11.

According to authorities, a 73-year-old man allegedly collided with an Amish horse-drawn carriage driven by a 43-year-old man on County Route 17 in DeKalb shortly after 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 11.

Deputies said the man stated he did not see the buggy and his car allegedly drove into the back of the buggy.

The buggy driver and two other passengers were taken to the Cantonal Potsdam Hospital with minor injuries.

The accident is currently still being investigated.
