This weekend there are weather warnings for temperatures in the triple digit range

DENVER (KDVR) – Pinpoint Weather Alert Days will be back in effect Saturday and Sunday as triple-digit, record-breaking heat continues to dominate Denver’s forecast.

The heat warnings are in effect until 8 p.m. on Friday and then come into effect again on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

In this extreme heat, it is important to take precautions such as staying hydrated and taking breaks in the shade or indoors to avoid heat-related illnesses such as heat exhaustion.

Weather tonight: Mostly clear, warm

The night into Friday will remain mostly clear and warm. Lows will fall to around 18°C, which is 5 degrees warmer than normal for this time of year.

Weather tomorrow: Sunny, record heat

Saturday will be hot and sunny again. Highs are expected to reach a new daily record of 101 degrees. The current record is 100 degrees and was reached in 2003.

Outlook: More triple-digit heat, relief on the way

On Sunday, another day with a precise weather warning will come into force. Maximum temperatures are expected to reach the lower three-digit range, breaking the daily record of 100 degrees from 1878.

Relief is on the way as the working week begins. Monday will start sunny, then highs will rise to over 35 degrees and clouds will increase before a few showers and thunderstorms.

The chance of showers and thunderstorms will increase on Tuesday and Wednesday, supporting a cooling trend. Highs will reach just 27 degrees on Wednesday and Thursday before ending the week on a seasonably warm 32 degrees on Friday.
