Wolf Pack transfer player arrested for four drug offenses

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – Sparks police arrested a transfer player for the Wolf Pack football team on four counts of drug offenses Thursday.

22-year-old Davis Mallinger was arrested for two counts of drug possession and two counts of possession with intent to sell.

Mallinger was booked into jail at 3:48 p.m. on Thursday. He was no longer in custody as of late Friday afternoon.

The transfer from West Virginia was scheduled to play as a defensive back for the Wolf Pack this season.

The athletic department issued a statement saying it was aware of the arrest, was working to gather more information, and that Mallinger was suspended indefinitely.
