Hyderabad: A 25-year-old woman was allegedly cheated and raped several times by an employee of a private bank who met her through a Marriage agency siteThe accused, Sangram, a native of Odisha, is said to have promised to marry her but later started exploiting her financially and sexually.

Police said the woman, who works for a private company, came across the accused on a marriage agency website two months ago. After gaining her trust, he agreed to meet the victim, who lives in Secunderabad. He said he was visiting the city on official business.
During his visit, he sexually assaulted the woman in her apartment. He started staying with her and threatened her with dire consequences if she spoke to anyone about the matter. He also took over $500,000 from her for trading investments and forced her to buy him a car, an air conditioner in the apartment, a new television and an iPhone.
When she confronted him a few days ago, he threatened to kill her family members if she told anyone about it. When she resisted, he fled her apartment three days ago, but continued to harass her through messages and calls.
