Armed fugitive arrested after attempting to flee from police in Baltimore City

BALTIMORE – A Baltimore County man was arrested while attempting to flee from police following a two-vehicle crash on I-95 in Baltimore City Thursday afternoon.

Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) police officers arrested 24-year-old Marcus T. Harris following the crash, which occurred northbound on I-95 near O’Donnel Street.

Upon arrival, officers learned that Harris had an arrest warrant from the Harford County Sheriff’s Office for assault.

When officers attempted to arrest Harris, he attempted to flee the scene but was quickly apprehended. Officers then found a loaded handgun in Harris’ shorts pocket.

Harris is charged with several weapons offenses, including illegal possession of a firearm.

No injuries were reported by MDTA.

Harris was taken to the Baltimore Central Booking and Intake Center.
