PTI suspends membership of Sher Afzal Marwat

Party forms committee to investigate Marwat’s statements and actions that cause significant damage

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has suspended the primary membership of Sher Afzal Marwat due to disciplinary violations.

The statement issued by PTI general secretary Omar Ayub on Friday said the action was taken due to Marwat’s violation of party discipline and a committee of inquiry has been set up to look into the matter.

The committee will investigate Marwat’s statements and actions, which are believed to have caused significant damage to the party. The statement highlighted that Marwat has already been expelled from the political and core committees.

The decision to suspend his membership was taken on the instructions of PTI chairman Imran Khan. According to sources, Khan had ordered Marwat’s suspension a day earlier after he publicly expressed disagreements with the party leadership.

Marwat had earlier accused party leaders of preventing him from meeting Khan in Adiala Jail. When asked by journalists, Imran Khan declined to comment on the matter.
