Morgantown man charged with sexual abuse

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (WBOY) — A Morgantown man has been charged with sexual abuse after he informed police.

According to a criminal complaint filed Thursday, July 4, it was reported that 58-year-old Richard Braham Jr. sexually abused a girl the night before and into the morning.

According to the indictment, Braham “also sent her inappropriate messages.” The victim gave police permission to read the messages, which “showed Braham discussing the incident and concluded that he had in fact groped the victim.”

Braham was charged with first-degree sexual abuse. He is being held at the North Central Regional Jail on $50,000 bail.
