CT man charged in ‘major drug investigation,’ police say

A man was arrested on drug and weapons charges after police seized several narcotics, several thousand dollars in cash and two firearms in East Hartford on Thursday.

The “extensive drug investigation” and seizures were conducted by the East Hartford Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division, according to Officer Marc Caruso.

Caruso said investigators allegedly seized narcotics, drug paraphernalia, more than $21,000 and two illegal firearms with high-capacity magazines, “successfully removing these dangerous items from our community.”

As a result of the investigation, 30-year-old Shane Scott of East Hartford was arrested on multiple drug and weapons charges.

He was held on $250,000 bail and was scheduled to appear before a judge on Friday.
