Man arrested in Florida faces trial in Pittsfield for alleged sexual abuse of a minor

PITTSFIELD, Massachusetts (WWLP) – A man arrested in Florida has been returned to Pittsfield to face charges related to alleged sexual abuse of a minor.

According to a press release from the Berkshire County District Attorney’s Office to 22News: Omar Soto-Rincon was arrested by the Broward County Sheriff’s Office in Florida. He was extradited to Massachusetts by U.S. Marshals for alleged sexual abuse of a minor.

On Tuesday, Soto-Rincon was arraigned in Central Berkshire District Court in Pittsfield on charges of indecent assault and battery on a person under 14. He is being held on $5,000 bail and his pretrial hearing is scheduled for Jan. 6, 2025.
