Kochis will address the Nassau Street incident in a press conference on Monday

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Charlottesville Police Chief Mike Kochis will be available to the media at 2 p.m. Monday to provide an update on the Nassau Street investigation. Many on social media are criticizing the investigation’s preliminary claim that Edward Anderson first attacked a woman in a parked car before striking and killing him as she attempted to flee in her vehicle.

Tim Heaphy, general counsel at WINA and a former federal prosecutor, speculates in the Morning News that Kochis either has information about the arrest or charges Monday afternoon or is making an appeal to the public. Apparently aware of the criticism on social media, CPD has urged “anyone with firsthand knowledge or video of this incident” to speak to investigators or call Crime Stoppers at 434-977-4000 to remain anonymous.
