Missing woman spotted near a bank in Richmond

MADISON COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – The search continues for 67-year-old Sherry Fugate, a Berea resident who has been missing since earlier this week, with new sightings reported.

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office reported that Fugate was spotted at Stockyards Bank near Gibson Bay in Richmond around noon Thursday. She was last seen wearing an orange T-shirt, blue jeans and black tennis shoes. She also reportedly visited St. Joseph Hospital in Berea on Thursday morning.

A Golden Alert was issued for Fugate after her daughter reported her missing and said she had not seen her since Wednesday. Fugate suffers from mental illness and requires her medication.

Investigators believe Fugate is attempting to hitchhike to Rome, Georgia. Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to contact the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.
