Fairfield police release new surveillance photos of missing 16-year-old

Fairfield Police have released new information and surveillance photos about a 16-year-old girl who has been missing since July 2.

Authorities say Jomana Ali ran away from her Elm Street home, turned off her phone’s location services and is not active on social media.

Witnesses told police that Ali approached them at the Fairfield I-95 Southbound rest area and said she was trying to run away from home and was looking for a ride.

Surveillance footage showed the girl voluntarily getting into a black Saturn Ion with a Massachusetts license plate.

Police say she was dropped off in Bellmawr, New Jersey, on July 3. Her last known location was near Ace Auto Repair.

Her cell phone was briefly connected to several cell towers in New York and New Jersey on July 3 before being disconnected. It was later discovered that Jomana’s cell phone had been left in the back of a pickup truck parked at the Fairfield rest area on July 2. The phone was located by Fairfield Police detectives and contact was made with the driver of the pickup truck, who found the phone in the back of his pickup truck.

Ali’s family says they are concerned about her mental health. They say she takes daily medication that she forgot at home.

“I’m at a loss for words… I just miss my daughter. It’s been ten days now. We don’t know where she’s gone or what she’s doing,” her mother said.

She is believed to be in the Bellmawr, New Jersey area or the surrounding Philadelphia area and is considered an endangered juvenile.

Anyone with information on Jomana’s whereabouts is asked to contact Fairfield Police at 203-254-4800 or 911.
