Queens man charged in fatal hit-and-run accident

QUEENS, NY – On Friday, April 28, 2023, at approximately 4:40 a.m., police were called to a car crash on Jackson Avenue where a 58-year-old male pedestrian was struck and found unconscious. The incident occurred near 10-57 Jackson Avenue, in the jurisdiction of the 108th Precinct.

The victim, who suffered severe head and body injuries, was taken by ambulance to New York Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center. Despite all rescue attempts, he was pronounced dead at the hospital.

In connection with the incident, 20-year-old Joshua Gutierrez of 76-39 85 Road, Queens, NY, was charged with involuntary manslaughter, reckless leaving the scene, tampering with evidence, and third-degree driving without a license.

  • Man stabbed to death in 42nd Street subway station

    NEW YORK, NY – A 31-year-old man was stabbed on the southbound “A” platform of the West 42 Street subway station following a verbal argument with four unidentified men. The incident occurred late Tuesday evening around 11:36 p.m.

    After the altercation, the suspects fled to an unknown location. Emergency medical services took the victim to NYC Health and Hospitals/Bellevue, where he was in stable condition.

    Police have released descriptions of the people involved. The first suspect is described as a man around 30 years old with dark skin, medium build and short black dreadlocks. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie, dark shorts, a blue baseball cap and black or white shoes. The second suspect, also dark skin and a similar age of 18 to 22, was wearing a white t-shirt, black pants and white or blue shoes.

    The third suspect is a male of medium complexion, approximately 18 to 22 years of age, approximately 5’10” tall, with black hair, wearing blue jeans, blue underwear, black sandals, and carrying a red book bag. The fourth suspect, approximately 25 years of age, has dark complexion, medium build, short black hair, and brown eyes, and was last seen wearing white clothing with black shoes. The investigation is ongoing as authorities continue to search for the suspects.

  • Suspect arrested for violent robbery on Roosevelt Avenue

    NEW YORK, NY – A 27-year-old man was attacked and robbed by five people in front of 77-11 Roosevelt Avenue on Thursday evening, June 20. In the incident, which occurred around 10 p.m., the attackers hit the victim several times on the head with blunt objects and threatened him with a knife.

    The attackers forcibly took a gold chain valued at approximately $1,500 from the victim and then fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction. The victim sustained head injuries and was taken to NYC Health and Hospitals/Elmhurst, where he was reportedly in stable condition. Following the incident, police arrested one person in connection with the attack.

    Descriptions of the remaining suspects are available. All four are described as males with light skin and a slim build. The first was last seen wearing a black LA baseball cap, white t-shirt, black Nike shorts and white sneakers. The second was wearing a black baseball cap, white t-shirt and multi-colored shorts with white sneakers.

    The third suspect was wearing a navy blue Yankee baseball cap, gray t-shirt, black shorts, white sneakers, and a black shoulder bag. The fourth suspect was wearing a black LA baseball cap, black surgical mask, white t-shirt, black Nike sweatpants, black sneakers, and a black fanny pack. The investigation is ongoing as authorities continue to search for the remaining suspects.

  • Public help requested in search of missing Brooklyn man

    BROOKLYN, NY – The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating Souleymane Ndiaye, a 29-year-old Brooklyn resident who was reported missing. Ndiaye was last seen on Saturday, June 8, at his home at 1652 Nostrand Avenue in the jurisdiction of the 67th Precinct.

    Ndiaye is described as 5’9″ tall and weighing 165 pounds. He has a slim build, brown eyes and black hair. The circumstances of his disappearance have raised concerns for his safety and the NYPD is asking anyone with information to come forward and help locate him.
