2 people arrested after Springfield home is hit by gunfire in broad daylight – NBC Boston

Two people were arrested after a home in Springfield, Massachusetts, was hit by gunfire in broad daylight on Wednesday.

According to Springfield police, officers responded to a ShotSpotter call in the 0-100 block of James Street around 12:35 p.m. and found a home that had been struck by bullets.

Investigators received information about the suspects and the vehicle allegedly involved, which led officers to a home in the 0-100 block of Granville Street.

There the police found the suspicious vehicle, which had been reported stolen.

A suspect, later identified as 18-year-old Roberto Pagan, was found outside the Granville home. Police say they found the key to the vehicle allegedly involved in the shooting on Pagan, as well as a mask and medical gloves.

A second suspect, a 16-year-old, was found in the house. Both Pagan and the teenager were arrested.

Pagan, of Springfield, is accused of discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building, intentionally destroying property valued at less than $1,200 and carrying a stolen motor vehicle, police said.

According to police, the teenager was arrested for illegal possession of weapons in December 2022. What charges he faces in connection with this incident have not been disclosed.

The investigation is ongoing.
