Man found dead in Haverstraw apartment

According to police, neighbors in a Haverstraw community found the body of a man in his apartment Thursday morning.

Residents of the house on the corner of New Main Street and Maple Avenue say they haven’t seen the man in a while.

A smell from a room on the ground floor led them to his unlocked door. There, neighbors say, they saw the man dead on his bed.

Haverstraw Police were immediately called and began an investigation.

Police believe the man’s death may have been due to natural causes or drugs.
