Antioch man arrested after burglary and other robberies in San Francisco

A 23-year-old Antioch man was arrested in connection with a home robbery in San Francisco and is now being accused of numerous other robberies.

According to the San Francisco Police Department:

On February 14, 2024, at approximately 3:57 a.m., San Francisco Police officers responded to a burglary in progress at a residential development in the 300 block of Winding Way.

Officers made contact with the victims, who stated they were in their residence when several unknown suspects armed with firearms forced their way into their home. The suspects ransacked the residence and stole jewelry, a purse valued at several thousand dollars, and a vehicle. The suspects then fled the scene in an unknown vehicle. One victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the incident.

During the investigation, officers were able to find evidence that led to the identification of the 23-year-old. Isaiah Banquerigo from that City of Antioch, APPROX.

Working with other investigators outside the jurisdiction, SFPD investigators determined that Banquerigo was suspected of several robberies in other cities and the burglary in San Francisco on February 14, 2024.

On June 12, 2024, investigators with the Strategic Investigation Unit developed reasonable suspicion to arrest Banquerigo. Due to the risk of firearm possession, the SFPD Tactical Unit located Banquerigo and arrested him in Colma, California. Banquerigo was found with a loaded firearm in his possession.

Investigators identified another suspect involved in the break-in on February 14, 2024. Officers developed probable cause for the arrest of the 21-year-old Montana Jones because of his involvement in the robbery.

In cooperation with the Oakland Police Department, Jones was located and arrested by police on July 2, 2024. With the assistance of the SFPD’s Community Violence Reduction Team (CVRT), Jones was transported to the San Francisco County Jail.

Jones and Banquerigo were booked into the San Francisco County Jail on the following charges:

  • 209 PC (kidnapping)
  • 211 PC (robbery)
  • 459 PC (burglary)
  • 245(a)(2) StGB (Grave bodily harm)
  • 215 PC (car theft)
  • 182 PC (conspiracy).

A review of recent burglaries has led investigators to believe that these burglaries are being committed by the same group of suspects. Investigators are looking for connections to previous incidents based on similarities in suspect description, similarities in victims, and modus operandi. In addition, investigators continue to pursue additional leads and collect evidence to identify the alleged suspects responsible for the above incident and the string of burglaries in San Francisco.
