(ACCIDENT) Driver of a C8 Corvette Z06 charged with drunk driving after fleeing from police and causing a multi-vehicle crash

If you have enough money, you can buy an expensive sports car like a C8 Z06, but you can’t always buy the right brains to go with it.

This is one of the key takeaways from the three-car crash on Sunday afternoon, July 7, in Riverside County, California, involving the sports car in question.

The driver of the Corvette initially fled from the police, who had stopped him near the fire station in the gated community of Canyon Lake – and shortly afterwards collided with the other two vehicles.

Fortunately, no one was seriously injured in the accident. The driver of one of the other vehicles is said to have been treated in a hospital for minor injuries. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the expensive Z06, which appears to have suffered severe damage, particularly to the passenger side, in several photos from the scene of the accident posted on social media.

Parts of all of the vehicles involved appear to be scattered on this stretch of Greenwald Avenue near what appears to be a blind curve.

TITLE

The Corvette driver now has a completely wrecked car, but that is the least of his worries as he is charged with drunk driving, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office.

Facebook users point out that the Corvette driver is a known resident of the Canyon Lake community, so police likely could have tracked him down, so there was no point in running away. He was also lucky that no golfers in the golf carts were injured, as the accident apparently happened near a golf course.
