Deputies arrested man accused of robbing a bank in Destin

OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. (WMBB) – The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office has arrested the suspect accused of using a note to demand money from a Destin bank teller.

The incident occurred on July 3, when a man wearing a baseball cap and surgical mask stole a small amount of cash from the Truist Bank on Emerald Coast Parkway.

On July 5, officers arrested 66-year-old Charles Gallagher of the Destin Maritime Court.

During the investigation, Gallagher’s black 2017 Maserati was spotted at a nearby store without a license plate and with an obscured emblem, apparently in an attempt to conceal his identity.

Investigators said a search warrant for his car revealed a bag of cash, a light blue surgical mask, glasses and more.

According to deputies, Gallagher denies any involvement in the robbery.
