Pastor from Weeki Wachee allegedly sexually abused teenage relatives after giving them alcohol and THC gummy bears

A Weeki Wachee pastor is facing charges after police say he gave a teenage relative alcohol and a gummy bear containing THC and then sexually abused her.

According to the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office, a teenager living in New York told officers that the incident occurred while she was visiting a relative in Brooksville the day before.

The victim told investigators she was home alone with William Martinez, 55, a pastor at Kingdom of Hope Ministries in Weeki Wachee, when he gave her a frozen drink he had purchased at a convenience store the day before.

She said the drink tasted funny and that Martinez also gave her a THC gummy bear.

The victim further stated that Martinez began sexually abusing her by touching her inappropriately and forcing her to touch him.

Afterwards, investigators said, the victim went to her bedroom and slept.

According to investigators, Martinez denied all of the victim’s allegations.

Using a search warrant, detectives collected forensic evidence in Martinez’s home.

According to HCSO, blood and urine tests provided by the victim showed the presence of alcohol and THC.

After questioning, Martinez was arrested on two counts of lewd and lascivious conduct with a victim between the ages of 12 and 16 and two counts of domestic or custodial sexual abuse with a victim between the ages of 12 and 16.

Martinez is currently being held without bail.
