A New Orleans officer has a gun pointed at him outside the police station

New Orleans police arrest a woman accused of pulling a gun on an NOPD officer parked in the county parking lot

Sometime today in Texas. Well 12:17pm and here at home we are now calling this a WDSU First Warning Day with weather influences and possible strong storms moving in this evening. DEREK. YES, WE SEE THAT HERE. RANDI. But it looks like a lot of things will be fine to our north, which is good, but our environment is still conducive to severe weather. So it’s better to be safe than sorry. EXACTLY. That’s why we’re under WDSU First Warning Weather Impact Day. DOESN’T MATTER. There is also a slight risk of severe weather on the north coast that I will show you. BUT RIGHT NOW IT’S A BEAUTIFUL DAY OUTSIDE. VERY WARM HERE AND VERY HUMID AT THE SAME TIME. HERE TOO. Now let’s take a live look at the visible satellite loop. AND YOU CAN SEE THAT WE’RE NOW SHOWING SOME OF THESE SHIPPING WHITE CLOUDS OVER SOUTHEAST OF LOUISIANA. AND THERE WILL BE MORE HERE THAT DEVELOP UNDER THE DAY HEATING. BUT LET’S BRAND OUT AND SHOW YOU THE BIGGER PICTURE HERE. We have a cold front moving very slowly towards southeast Louisiana. THIS IS IMPORTANT BECAUSE THIS WILL GIVE US MUCH NEEDED RELIEF FROM THE HEAT HERE FOR TOMORROW, AND EVEN MORE OVER THE WEEKEND. BUT it is very warm at the moment. Check out the temperatures here, already into the upper 80s and lower 90s. BUT YOU KNOW, OF COURSE IT WILL GET A LOT WARMER HERE AS THE AFTERNOON GOES. So we’re officially on the record. WATCH TODAY. The record high is 91. But keep in mind that my predicted high is 94. So we could easily break that record here today. I now think we have a pretty good chance of breaking another record tomorrow, with a record high of 90 degrees Friday afternoon. Um, the forecast is 91 degrees. ZONE FORECAST FOR THE SOUTH COAST. We see high temperatures reaching into the low 90s, with some to mostly cloudy conditions. NORTH COAST LIKELY A LITTLE WARMER, LOW TO MID 90s. IN FACT, 95 IS CERTAINLY A POSSIBILITY IN BOGALUSA TODAY, WITH PARTLY TO MOSTLY CLOUDY SKIES. LOOK AT THE FEELING TEMPERATURES ALREADY. IT FEELS LIKE MID TO UPPER 90’s. SOME PLACES WILL HAVE TRIPLE DIGIT BUT MOST LOCATIONS WILL HAVE A FEELING OF TRIPLE DIGIT THIS AFTERNOON. So be sure to stay hydrated, drink plenty of fluids, and take frequent breaks if you’re out and about between 74 and 77 tonight. Mostly cloudy, a shower or an emerging storm. WARM TEMPERATURES POSSIBLE. SOUTHWEST WINDS 5 TO 10. SUNSET 653. WHAT WILL HAPPEN HERE TONIGHT OR THE REST OF THE DAY? RATHER? TWO: WE HAVE THE WARM, MOIST AIR COMING FROM THE GULF. It will be very hot and humid here for the rest of today. NOW I’M OBSERVING A COLD FRONT BACK IN THE WEST. You can see some storms igniting. WE HAVE SOME UPPER LEVEL INFLUENCES HERE ALSO IN THE ATMOSPHERE. THROUGH THE DEEP SOUTH. This combined with the front and along with the southerly wind is contributing to the formation of thunderstorms and can be seen developing as far east as we can. BUT ON THE OTHER LOOK WE LOOK PRETTY QUIET HERE. HOWEVER, we are now starting to see some signs that these showers and storms could develop overnight into the early morning, mainly along the North Coast. So that’s why we’re still under this weather influence, BECAUSE WE COULD STILL HAVE SOME OF THESE STORMS DEVELOPING UNTIL 11 AM ON FRIDAY. This front should set us free. Much cooler air is moving in, so be prepared for temperatures to drop a bit. ALSO, SOME LIGHT SHOWERS MAY OCCUR HERE. AS WE RISE INTO FRIDAY EVENING HERE WITH THE NORTHERN BREEZE, THE COOL AIR IS SETTING IN. As you can see, we are on the second level. SLIGHT RISK FROM SWIMMING WEATHER ON THE NORTH COAST, LEVEL 1, CURRENTLY MARGINAL RISK ON THE SOUTH COAST. THAT’S WHAT WE’RE NOTICED HERE NOW. Isolated, isolated, strong, severe thunderstorms are possible, which can basically be summed up with the two risks. BUT HERE’S A LOOK AT YOUR WDSU HIGH VALUES FOR SEVEN DAYS. AND LOW 90S TOMORROW 80S
