Prosecutor: Man charged in Easton shooting

Authorities said a 19-year-old was arrested Thursday on charges related to a shooting in Easton earlier this month.

Northampton County District Attorney Stephen Baratta said in a news release that Jaishaun Wright-White was charged in connection with the incident, which occurred on July 1 in the 100 block of South 12th Street.

When officers arrived at the scene, they saw a young man dressed all in black fleeing the area, the news release said. After interviewing witnesses, reviewing surveillance footage and searching a home, investigators identified Wright-White as the shooter, the prosecutor said.

Wright-White was arrested at his Easton home and is charged with discharging a firearm into an occupied structure and carrying a firearm without a permit, both felonies, as well as five counts of recklessly endangering another person.

He was remanded to the Northampton County Jail on $250,000 bail and did not have an attorney available for him Thursday.
