15-year-old boy injured in shooting in Englewood, police said

According to Chicago police, a 15-year-old boy was injured in a shooting in the Englewood neighborhood in the south of the city on Wednesday afternoon.

The boy was shot in the thigh just before 4:30 p.m. as he stood near a sidewalk in the 5600 block of South Winchester Avenue, police said. He was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital, where he was initially in good condition, police said.

Police said there were no suspects in custody and that detectives were investigating the shooting.
