Dog saves 86-year-old owner after naked man attacks him outside home, family says – WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sports

MANCHESTER, New Hampshire (WMUR) — An 86-year-old Manchester man is recovering after his neighbor showed up naked at his back door and attacked him before the man’s dog jumped in and pinned the neighbor down, according to police.

Manchester Police said 86-year-old Ned Tarmey was attacked at his home on Pine Avenue early Sunday morning.

Ned Tarmey’s nephew, Jeff Tarmey, said his uncle was home alone with the family dog, Kane, when he took the dog outside.

Jeff Tarmey said their neighbor, Donald Pierce, 55, stood naked outside and screamed that he was going to kill Ned Tarmey. Pierce then started throwing rocks and lawn furniture at Ned Tarmey, his nephew said.

“The dog started to whine a little bit, so he thought maybe he needed to go out, so he went downstairs and came to this door here, and when he opened the door he was hit by a brick,” said Jeff Tarmey. “Here was a completely naked man.”

At that moment, Kane the dog jumped in and held Pierce until the police arrived.

Jeff Tarmey said police used a stun gun on Pierce and had to use it on Kane to get him to let go. He said the dog is fine and he believes the dog saved his uncle’s life. Jeff Tarmey said he saved Kane just last year.

Kane and Ned Tarmey met in the hospital’s intensive care unit on Tuesday. Jeff Tarmey said his uncle would be released from the intensive care unit.

Pierce faces more than a dozen charges, including first-degree assault, criminal threats, exhibitionism and cruelty to animals. He is scheduled to appear in court next week.
