July 1, 2024

KBPD officers conducted a traffic stop in the 200 block of Crandon Boulevard. Officers made contact with the driver and conducted a records check. The records check revealed a suspended driver’s license. Officers issued a summons.

Police were called to the 100 block of Hampton Lane because an e-bike had been found there several days ago. Officers took the e-bike and made a report.

The complainant, from the 50 block of Ocean Lane Drive, contacted police because his scooter had been stolen. They also advised that the scooter had called an address in the City of Miami. Officers entered the scooter into the system and contacted the City of Miami. Detectives will continue to investigate.

Emergency crews responded to the 400 block of Grand Bay Drive for a late domestic dispute. Officers spoke with those involved and documented the incident. There were no signs of a physical altercation.

The complainant, from the 700 block of Crandon Boulevard, contacted police about his wallet. He told police he left his wallet on the roof of his car and his wife drove away. Officers documented the incident in a report and provided a case card.

The victim, in the 200 block of Crandon Boulevard, told police he purchased three individual gift cards and sent them to an unknown person. The victim thought he was sending the information to his boss and later realized it was a scam. A case card was issued.

KBPD officers were dispatched to West Enid Drive & Village Green Way for a minor traffic accident. Officers made contact with those involved and conducted a traffic accident investigation.

Emergency crews were dispatched to the 6000 block of Crandon Boulevard to conduct a traffic stop. The driver was contacted and a report was filed.


July 2, 2024

KBPD officers were contacted by a mother in the 200 block of Crandon Boulevard looking for her son, who she had not heard from since the previous evening. Units located the son and advised the mother that he was at Silver Sands.

Police responded to the 300 block of Ocean Drive to investigate a traffic accident. Officers made contact with those involved and conducted a traffic accident investigation.

Units were dispatched to the 20 block of Turtle Walk due to a disturbance. They determined that the disturbance was due to a comment being made. One of the parties took an Uber and headed to the airport to catch a flight.

The complainant, of the 100 block of Crandon Boulevard, contacted police because he was the victim of a scam. Police contacted the complainant and informed him that his email address had been hacked and several of his phone applications had been accessed. The complainant provided a statement.

KBPD units conducted a traffic stop in the 1st block of Crandon Boulevard. The driver of the vehicle was contacted and received a ticket.


July 3, 2024

While on patrol, an officer was stopped by a Miami Dade bus driver in the 900 block of Crandon Boulevard. The driver told the officer that a male rider refused to pay the fare or exit the bus. Officers spoke with the man and conducted a records check. The check revealed a warrant out of Broward County. The man was taken into custody and transported to the TGK Jail for booking.

Management at Golden Hog ​​contacted police from the 90 block of Harbor Drive to issue a warning to a man for trespassing. Management told police they caught the man drinking alcohol and leaving the premises without paying multiple times. The man was contacted and issued a warning for trespassing.

Officers were called to the 100 block of Crandon Boulevard where a firearm was located. Officers made contact with the complainant and took possession of the weapon. The weapon was seized as evidence.

A case number was generated to document minor damage to a police vehicle in the 30 block of Crandon Boulevard.

Units were called to a domestic alarm in the 800 block of Harbor Drive. Officers checked the home and found the front door unlocked. The interior of the home was checked and everything appeared secure. The homeowner was notified.

Police were called to an alarm at a residence in the 100 block of Ocean Lane Drive. Officers contacted the owner’s son and learned it was an accident. All appeared safe.

KBPD officers in the 700 block of Crandon Boulevard conducted a traffic stop for someone texting while driving. The driver was contacted and issued a ticket.

Units in the 100 block of Crandon Boulevard conducted a traffic stop for speeding. Officers made contact with the driver and issued him a ticket.


July 4, 2024

Police were called to the 200 block of Greenwood Drive for a complaint of a loud party. When they arrived, music could be heard. Officers contacted the homeowner and issued him a written warning.

During the Fourth of July parade, a missing 9-year-old boy was reported in the 500 block of Crandon Boulevard. Officers were able to reach the mother and reunite her with her son.

KBPD and KBFD responded to the incident in the 300 block of Harbor Drive for a propane tank leak. The tank was removed.

Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Grand Bay Drive for a report of lost property. Upon arrival, officers were notified by theft deterrents of a suspicious bag of marijuana that was found by cleaning staff while cleaning. The suspected marijuana was seized for safekeeping and later destruction.

KBPD units were dispatched to Crandon Boulevard and Village Green Way for an accident. Officers made contact with those involved and conducted a traffic accident investigation.

Police responded to an accident involving two golf carts on Sunrise Drive and Ocean Drive. Officers contacted those involved and documented the incident.

KBPD and KBFD were on hand to assist the Miami Fire Boat in extinguishing a small fire on the fireworks ship.

Units at Crandon Boulevard and East Enid Drive conducted a traffic stop. Officers made contact with the driver and issued him a ticket.


July 5, 2024

While on patrol, officers conducted a traffic stop in the 2nd block of Crandon Boulevard for a vehicle operating without headlights. Officers made contact with the driver and issued him a ticket.

KBPD officers responded to the incident in the 400 block of Grand Bay Drive because a delivery truck had damaged a gate. Officers documented the incident in a report.

While on patrol, officers conducted a traffic stop in the 500 block of Crandon Boulevard for violating a red light. Officers detained the driver and issued him a ticket.

Units responded to reports of a large plastic bag containing bricks washed ashore and dispatched to the 200 block of Ocean Lane Drive. Officers contacted Border Patrol, who responded and took possession of the bag.

Police responded to a medical emergency call at Crandon Boulevard and Galen Drive.

KBPD officers responded to a Baker Act and responded to Ocean Drive and East Enid Drive.

Emergency crews responded to the 10 block of Island Drive after a loud party was reported. Upon arrival, crews could hear loud music. The resident was contacted and given a written warning.


July 6, 2024

Officers responded to reports of a loud party in the 300 block of Westwood Drive. When they arrived, units could hear loud music. The resident was contacted and given a written warning.

Police responded to the incident in the 200 block of Crandon Boulevard in connection with a Baker Act.

KBPD units responded to an accident in the 1100 block of Crandon Boulevard involving a bicyclist and a car. Officers made contact with those involved, who declined to file a traffic accident report. Officers documented the incident in an information report.

Police were called to an alarm at a residence in the 700 block of North Mashta Drive. Officers contacted a woman on the property who reported that the alarm had been accidentally set off. Everything seemed safe.

Officers responded to a verbal argument in the 100 block of Crandon Boulevard. Officers determined it was about the speed limit and blocking the garage ramp. Officers issued a case card to the parties involved.


July 7, 2024

Units were called to an alarm at a residence in the 1000 block of Mariner Drive. Officers checked the property and everything appeared safe.

KBPD officers were dispatched to an alarm at a residence in the 500 block of South Mashta Drive. Officers contacted the homeowner, who reported that the alarm had been accidentally set off. Everything appeared safe.

While on patrol, officers conducted a traffic stop for an expired license plate in the 1000 block of Crandon Boulevard. Officers made contact with the driver of the vehicle and issued tickets.

Police were called to a home alarm in the 800 block of Harbor Drive. Officers checked the property and everything appeared safe.
