Ohio teen fugitive arrested after fleeing Georgetown County deputy

GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – A 17-year-old boy facing charges in Ohio was arrested after fleeing the scene of a crash involving a Georgetown County officer.

According to the sheriff’s office, the minor was in an accident on Pawley’s Island and refused to stop for a deputy. He was later found in Myrtle Beach and taken into custody. The juvenile will be returned to Ohio where charges will be filed against him.


Officers are also searching for Payton Baldridge, 19, who was involved in the accident and has active warrants.

A Georgetown County deputy saw a vehicle reported stolen on Martin Luther King Drive in Pawleys Island. The deputy turned on blue lights and a chase ensued, resulting in an accident between the patrol vehicle and a civilian.

According to GCSO, the stolen car was involved in a separate, single-vehicle accident. There were two women and two men in the stolen vehicle. The two women were arrested while the two men fled the scene.
