October 7 investigation presented to Beeri survivors, criticized by IDF – Israel News

The investigation into the battle in Kibbutz Be’eri, which was heavily criticized by IDF officials, was published on Thursday.

This Thursday morning, the surviving residents of Kibbutz Beeri began their day by meeting with Major General (Res.) Mickey Edelstein in one of the Dead Sea hotels, where Edelstein answered questions from the survivors of the October 7 massacre.

At the same time, IDF representatives showed the results of the investigation to the 23 relatives of the Beeri battle.

Clear deficiencies in combat management and initiative

The investigation points to a long series of failures in the preparation of the defense system by the Israeli forces under the command and control of the Gaza Brigade and the Regional Division.

It is already clear that battle management failed and that there was a lack of initiative in dealing with the Israeli forces and police.

Senior Israeli officers who were involved in the investigation criticized its portrayal. One of them remarked: “This investigation is mind manipulation.” Another senior officer added: “There are officers in the Israeli army who failed on October 7.”

“They should not be part of the system, and why they can continue is unclear. The operational perception within the Israeli Defense Forces has not withstood the test of fighting.”
