Former Nowata County deputy arrested, charged with embezzling weapons from sheriff’s office

OSBI agents arrested a former Nowata County sheriff after investigators say he took weapons from the sheriff’s office.

Agents said the sheriff’s office ordered an investigation in 2018 when someone noticed six guns were missing.

They said the investigation pointed to Thomas Campbell.

Agents said they found one of the missing guns in Campbell’s home.

He was subsequently arrested on charges of embezzlement.
