Benji Gregory, “ALF” child star, dies at 46

Benji Gregory has died. Several Points of sale report that the child star who played Brian Tanner in ALF in the 80s, died on June 13th for unknown reasons. He was 46 years old.

The actor’s sister, Rebecca, told TMZwho first reported the news that Benji was found dead in his car in a bank parking lot in Peoria, Arizona.

Rebecca believes her brother – who suffered from depression, bipolar disorder and a sleep disorder that could keep him awake for days – fell asleep in his car and died of heat stroke in the summer heat.

Benji was with his service dog Hans, who also died in the incident, Rebecca told the outlet.

To honor Benji, Rebecca told the outlet that people can donate to The Actors Equity Foundation or the ASPCACauses he would have supported.

Benji began his career on television with guest appearances on The A-Team, Punky Brewster And Twilight Zone – The Hidden World. At ALF, Benji played the middle child of a family whose house was inhabited by an alien. The series also starred Max Wright, Anne Schedeen and Andrea Elson.

After playing Brian in over 100 episodes of ALFAs the outlet reported, Benji left the entertainment business to join the U.S. Navy, from which he was honorably discharged for medical reasons in 2005.
