PORTLAND, Oregon (COIN) — A man was sentenced to 50 years in prison Monday after a jury found him guilty last month on several counts related to the sexual abuse of a child.

Wilfredo Aguilar-Pineda, 33, began sexually abusing his victim when she was a small child and this continued for “several years,” the Washington County District Attorney’s Office said.

“In 2022, residents of the victim’s residence entered the defendant and victim’s home under a blanket in bed. The victim reported the abuse to a family member later that evening. A reporter learned of the disclosure and alerted the Oregon Department of Human Services (ODHS). Hillsboro Police began an investigation. The victim met with medical experts at CARES Northwest, where she provided a detailed description of the abuse she suffered at the hands of the defendant,” officials said.

Aguilar-Pineda was found guilty of two counts of first-degree rape, first-degree sodomy, two counts of second-degree rape, two counts of first-degree sexual abuse and two counts of enticement of a minor. He will be transferred to the Oregon Department of Corrections to serve his sentence.
