Teenager arrested, man sought in Robeson County shooting investigation

ROBESON COUNTY, NC (WMBF) – A teenager has been arrested and police are still searching for a Maxton man in connection with a shooting Tuesday afternoon that left two minors injured.

The Robeson County Sheriff’s Office said officers responded to a shooting call in the 500 block of Arthur Road at 4 p.m. When they arrived, they found a home that had been shot at and the two people inside sustained gunshot wounds.

Sheriff Burnis Wilkins said the injuries were not life-threatening and both minors have since been released from the hospital.

While investigating the first shooting, officers discovered two additional homes with bullet holes in the area of ​​Chavis Road and Lakewood Drive in Maxton. No injuries were reported in those shootings.

On Wednesday, the RCSO announced that a 16-year-old had been arrested in connection with the shootings and charged with conspiracy and attempted murder.

Officers are still searching for 30-year-old Timothy Locklear, who is wanted on charges of multiple counts of attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon causing serious injury, discharging a weapon into an inhabited structure, criminal conspiracy, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, inducing a minor to commit crimes and second-degree kidnapping.

Wilkins said the investigation is ongoing and more charges are likely.
