Cape Cod police arrest man for attempted sexual abuse of child – NBC Boston

According to police on Cape Cod, a man was arrested after allegedly attempting to sexually assault a child at a soccer game on Tuesday.

Shortly before 8 p.m., officers arrived at Peter Homer Memorial Park in Yarmouth, Massachusetts. Callers reported that a man had lured a 5-year-old behind the park’s restrooms.

The child screamed and scared away the suspected attacker, police said. He rode away on an electric bike.

On Wednesday afternoon, police arrested 27-year-old Ryan Evans of Dennis after executing a search warrant.

According to Yarmouth police, Evans was previously charged in 2021 with attempted rape of a child, unarmed burglary and assault, assault, and criminal damage and theft.

It was not immediately clear whether Evans had a lawyer who could comment on the allegations against him.
